    Can anyone out there please tell me a way to find out if a certain vcd is in PAL or NTSC format. Thanx

    if you got a computer, it's very easy.
    for windows :
    insert the vcd and run the file MPEGAV\AVSEQ01.DAT in the windows media player.
    then, file-> properties -> advanced options -> MPEG video decoder -> properties.
    ... and you got the frame rate.
    29.97 for NTSC and 25 for PAL (and 23.smthg for NTSC also)

    for linux... i think there's all details if you launch mplayer.
