  1. Hi all

I always use CCE now and I usually use the same settings. However, I have also been using the same line in my avs file regarding bi-cubic resize no matter what the source, 16:9 or 4:3.

    bicubicresize(480,576)

This is the line I use. Is this wrong? I haven't really noticed any difference but I thought I would ask.

Any help would be great, thanks.

If your source is 4:3, there's nothing wrong with your bicubicresize.

However, if you have a 16:9 source and use the same resize parameters, you'll have to encode it as 16:9 too to keep the correct aspect ratio.

Problem is, some players have problems with 16:9 SVCDs. A safer way is to encode as letterboxed 4:3

    BicubicResize(480,432)
    AddBorders(0,72,0,72)

  3. Thanks,

So I should/could encode every svcd like this and only use add borders when the source is 16:9. When not 16:9 just use bicubicresize(480,432).

What is bicubic resize, what does it do?

    Again thanks.
