I'm a NEWBIE as they call it and have a few quick questions:
    1. Is there a difference in the AVI & DIVIX formats (as software such as Ulead Movie factory, Nero 5.5, and VOB instant DVD) only mention converting the AVI & MPEG formats???
    2. With that said, what is the most reliable software to go about doing this??
    3. I currently have ADAPTEC easy cd creator 4 (installed w/ computer) i was wanting to upgrade but can't seem to find the nameADAPTEC anywhere, has Roxio taken over the process.
    Thanks alot.

I'll attempt to answer your questions:
    1) AVI=audio video interleave DIVX is a specific codec used to make avi files
    2) for converting avi/divx-->mpg look at the left of this screen where it says CONVERT--you won't find better guides than those
    3) yes, your adaptec is now called roxio. in my opinion, I would dump that and get something like Nero, or CDRWin, or maybe get VCDeasy, and daemontools, and then clonecd or something like that.
I used Roxio for a while, and made about 20 coasters without a single successful burn, and then switched to Nero, and have only made a few bad discs, but hundreds of good ones.
    hope that helps.
what are you askin' me for...
    I'm an idiot!
