Speed up ReMPeg? How?

I have an Athlon 1.4 Ghz computer with 1 G of PC2100 DDR ram. It takes me an average of 18 hours to ReMPeg a 2.5 hr movie. What can I do to decrease the time to do this?

How much speed improvement is going to an Athlon 2100+?

Anyone using multiple processors? Any speed increase?

When it comes to encoding, processor is important.

Assuming all encoding software are written the same way with the CPU performance as the biggest bottleneck, your upgrade will not help much unless you run a dual processor system. You might get 30% increase in performance.

Beware: Tyan Tiger MPX dualie won't support higher than Athlon XP 1900+!!!
