  1. Hi guys...

I'm trying to do the multiplexing trick where you fool your DVD player into playing SVCDs. Now, this trick DOES work on my player. Tried it many times.

    This time, however...

...I'm trying to do the third CD of Spiderman, and the multiplexing gets about 70% done and I get a message about "246553 packets may cause error when VCD is played" or something similar. Anyway, it outputs a 547 meg mpg (the original svcd file is 736 or something), and to test it I burned the file onto a disc and tried it. It plays fine -- but it didn't multiplex the entire file! It ends earlier than it should, hence the difference in file sizes. It just stops about 70% of the way.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

Instead of multiplexing, try using the Merge & Cut option of TMPG Mpeg tools. Of course you won't be cutting anything, just set your type to Mpeg1 VCD non-standard and run. It will demux and mux with the new headers all in one step. This might eliminate your error, worth a shot.

  3. Hmm...

Apparently, the error isn't in anything I'm doing, but in the file itself. The file is just missing the last ten minutes or so of the movie. This is really bizarre, seeing as how the original file is about 736 megs and lists as being about 39 minutes, but in actuality it's 547 megs and is about 29 minutes.

It makes absolutely no sense to me, but...I don't know what else could be wrong...

  4. DAMN! I'm having the exact same problem. The MPEG2 file is fine (extracted with vcdgear) but when I try and re-multiplex to vcd header (to trick my dvd player :P ) It craps out at 18:23 of disk 2. I have tried to edit and cut past the crap out point and nothing seems to work. Plus I cannot open the file with virtual dub.

Any other suggestions anyone? Different programs, steps etc...?
