ok.. i have ripped a dvd.... have all the vob files..etc
have used avi2vcd as the guide tells me....
the result is i have a wav file and a d2v file... (wav file = 1G) (d2v file = 438k)
problem is this -
the guide says to use the tmpengc wizard by selecting the wav file as a audio input (thats fine) but it does not say what i am to select as my video input... according to the picture within the guide its the d2v file... but when i try to selct that... it does not like it?!?
i have tried all files.. vob's etc and none of them work as the video input file.... i'm stuck.![]()
i have installed all the relevant software...(including the tmpgenc addon thingy)![]()

Any help is FAAAANTASTIC.. :D

in TMPG, in the Option->Environmental Settings->VFAPI Plugin..
Right click the DVD2AVI Project File Reader and raise the priority..
That should do it, then load the d2v as video input, remember to keep the vob files on disc.. even after using the DVD2AVI program..
Then load the template you want in TMPGEnc and start the encode..
Happy encoding -.- -

When you unzipped the tmpgenc, tmpgeng vfap and dvd2avi zip files did you unzip them all in the same folder? If not thats your problem. Dvd2avi and tmpgenc vfap zips both contain different vfap files but both programs need both files to enable tmpgenc to open d2v files.
Make sure they are all in the same folder. Then double click on the unzipped tmpgenc vfap install file to install the plugin.
The wav and d2v files created with dvd2avi also need to be in the same folder as the ripped vob files.
Hopefully that'll be you sorted!Spence. -
YESS
thanks spence..... as it happens the version of dvd2avi i was using did not even havea .vfap. so i downloaded a newer version of it, removed tmpengc and the old dvd2avi reinstalled.... redone the dvd2avi bit, to get a new d2v file and it worked perfecly!
thanks for your help peeps!!Any help is FAAAANTASTIC.. :D
