  1. hi everyboby !

my issue is that I made a VCD, the .DAT files plays ok on my computer, the vcd itself plays fine under windvd... but on my DVD player (teac dv3000) the sound is out of sync from time to times (ok, sync problem, ok again, sync problem again etc...)
I tried another DVD player, and it remains the same...
    could anyone help me ?

I started from .rm files (about 15fps) converted them to .avi (tinra + stabilizator + virtualdub (to sync exactly sound & video (I get a 14.986fps file)).
then, with tmpgenc I made the .mpg (NTSC 14.986fps (internally 29.97)) CBR 1150, 352x240 etc...(as compliant as possible) and MPEG1 VCD non standard)

then, i use nero5.5.8, NTSC, compliant VCD and burn.
my teac DV3000 seems to support NTSC (it plays some NTSC DVD very well...)

    thank U !
    Rico.

    Correct
    Video-CD NTSC (MPEG-1 352x240 29.97fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

    (NTSC 14.986fps (internally 29.97)) CBR 1150, 352x240 etc..

How many frames and it does play ?

Make VCD's Non standard and you can get problems.... Never let Nero make any changes, the Mpeg should already be correct before you drop it into Nero...

  3. Actually, the mpg seems to be correct after the conversion by tmpenc (I get 29.97 fps)
the mpg plays ok, and even the vcd plays ok on my computer with a vcd player...
and nero doesn't make any conversion...

  4. I dont know if this will answer your question or even easy your mind at all. But my mom has a Sharp DVD standalone player and at my house i have a Panasonic Standalone player. For some reason when i play videos in my moms player, regardless if it is VCD or SVCD, it seems that the video will glitch on the player and then the next thing you know the audio and video are out of sync. Shortly after it will sync back up when the player glitches again. This DOES NOT happen on my player or anyone else's player i have tested. I personally think it is because my mom has a cheap piece of crap player. This might be the same problem you are having.

  5. I don't have a cheap piece of crap player !!!
    ...
    Well.. maybe you're right
but the thing I don't understand is that some vcds that I made plays correctly (but they where in 25fps (pal))...
I'm gonna make some other tests with "29.97" instead of "14.985 (internally 29.97)" in tmpgenc.
and finally, try to convert it in pal at 25fps

ooopppss !! I just saw a mistake in my 1st post : i wrote vcdeasy instead of tmpgenc.

well, anyway, thanks for your help. I'll tell you if I manage to do smthg.

  6. Sorry , i wasnt saying you had a piece of crap player, i was just saying my moms player is a piece of crap. Only because it does that. It might be the media you use as well. Cheaper inexpensive CD's might cause some issues when trying to play them in your player. Certain colors sometimes also has an effect on your player.

  7. yes, there's also that point, i tried to buy some more expensive CDR, but it seems that that's not the problem .
and don't worry about the "piece of crap player", it was funny
