i know everyone always posts on here asking how to make chapters seemlessly.

    here's my situation.

i rip dvds to the hard drive with smartripper, splitting and making a new .vob file for every chapter.

is there software that will perform a batch encoding of .vob to .mpg so that i can translate dvd chapters to svcd tracks?

i have been using flask, but maybe there's a plugin for doing batches or something?

    thanks!

FlasK uses all the .vob file as one logical file, this is dvd mode. I guess you should put the first vob file in a seperate subdirectory to avoid the dvd mode, maybe you need a directory for each vob file.
Also consider to use DVD2AVI instead of FlasK. Create a project file of each vob and use TMPG's batch encode mode.
I guess after you'll do this hard work, you want to burn it as multitrack SVCD? I think, this is not worth the trouble. But try and see.

i suppose we will see. i guess the ability to get seamless chapters is what it all depends on.

    thanks though.

one thing. would the dvd2avi step require my intervention between every file? or is there a batch process for dvd2avi as well?

    thanks.

ps. in flask, when doing a conversion, what does the tab "run in batch mode" do? i don't know how to use it.

dvd2avi does not have a batch mode. And flask?...I don't know, sorry.
