  1. I have a movie that I am trying to burn to SVCD converted to mpeg and cut into three parts. My player can play xvcd and xsvcd as well as all other normal formats. I tried checking off the create a standard complainant SVCD (which would make it a XSVCD) in Nero but my DVD player (an APEX-1500AD) goes crazy when trying to read it. I think its because of the abnormal resolution. The screen flickers and its all distorted.

Then I try allowing Nero to Convert it to a normal NTSC SVCD. Well it works... but it converts it to 480x480 which stretches it out major time. If I do it in PAL (480x5XX) it looks exactly the same. Then I tried burning the MPEG right on the root of the CD which my APEX can read. Well the APEX obviously can't judge it quite right because its very slim and squished and shoved in the very top of the screen with black filling 3/4 of the screen on the bottom.

I know it is possible because with proffesional SVCD releases like Centropy's Spiderman SVCD it has a 16:9 resolution. So how do I do it?

    Anyhelp would be welcome

    -Thanks in Advance

I think when you re-encoded it you must've used the wrong source aspect ratio.

You could try encoding it to 1:1 source aspect ratio, that should work well. I'd do a smal clip using the source range filters, burn it and agive it a look. The best source to look at as a guide is look at the DivX to VCD guide to see the filter,s etc, and a 1:1 setup.
