    I have never attempted the DVD copy, but I am going to have access to a mac with a super drive (I believe this is a DVD writer-correct me if I am wrong). Is it possible to copy dvd'd directly (form DVD movie to blank DVD disk) with this drive?

    Yes, this is possible with with DVDs you've authored yourself.

    With commercial DVDs this is impossible to do directly with any DVD drive, unless the DVD is non-encrypted (which is only a minority of them).

    Very few DVD titles are unencrypted and small enough for a straight 1:1 copy. Among those few are 99% of all porn, and a handful of independent movies not manufactured by major studios.
