  1. Ok I encode using tmpgeng, audio with virtual dub. I download divx or avi movies. They look good on my computer. I encode them they look good on my computer. I burn them as vcd using nero. They look bad on my dvd player@! I follow the instruction (basic) on this site but geeez I am getting tired of the what I get. The original file and even the encode file looks ok on my computer but once burned and played on mydvd sometimes I have synch sound problem, kinda pinkish faze around the image....I does not look very good. Now I know vcd isnt the best quality but I have seen verygood vcd image...How can I obtain that? ANyone can help? I am tired of the output after all those hours of encoding ect. Help!!!!!!!!

  2. Of course they'll look good on your comp. Different medium
Remember, the vcd is going to "fill up' your tv screen, hence making anything bad look worst.

VCD is below the quality of VHS. So if youre looking for better, do sVCd's instead.

Sounds like a problem with your DVD player, they should look about the same as a full screen playback on your computer. Try a different brand of disk, use a higher quality one, I use Maxell CD-R 80XL and some of them are as good as a DVD disk. Those that are bad like cam's are usually about the same on the player.

  4. a divx from the net??????????? a whole movie in a 200 300 mb's????? give me a break!!!! you want a good quality picture??? think this way,,,the most important part of this is the video source,if you have a crappy video from the net, don't expect to get a better picture after you convert to vcd.
If you rip a dvd to vcd,,that is a big difference, because the source is a lot better then divx from the net.
