  1. Hi,

I'm trying to turn some of my Divx vids into vcds. I've tried the Nero methods, but the encode with Nero is kinda the pits, and the files are too big. I've therefore tried to encode the divx to mpeg-1 in TMPEnc. However, I can't seem to get any video playback, both when I'm trying to preview the film, and after the actual encode, I have an mpeg with no video, just sound. So what I've tried is to split the divx itself first, then send it to Nero, and let Nero do the encode. The problem is, VirtualDub can't play the video signal either. Is there some sort of patch or codec that I need to install, and if so, how would I go about doing it?

    thanx

  2. Probably....
    download DIVX codec from
    www.divx.com
    Use TMPGE for encoding...not Nero

  3. Thanks for your reply,

Before you even replied I realized that I didin't have the divx codec even though I had the divx player. I thought that the one required the other and I guess i was wrong...HOWEVER, I've got another problem...I got the divx codec, reencoded my avi to mpeg-1 (FACEOFF, at 23.976 fps, 720X480 pixelation [4:3 - NTSC], 192 kps audio, XVCD format), and the picture and sound looked and sounded great, but, the image was really jumpy...how can I keep the picture and sound quality and get a smooth playing video image?
