    I'm away to install a new harddrive to my pc. At present I have my DVDr slave to my primary harddrive and my DVD rom on another IDE cable.
    Do I make the DVDr slave to the DVD rom or do I give each rom a harddrive? any advice on best way to set it up welcome

    just slave it to your dvd drive. Why would you slave it to a HD?
