  1. I started out with a bin file. I used ISOBuster which took the bin and created the VCD files from that. So now I have the folders:

    CDI
    EXT
    MPEGAV
    SEGMENT
    VCD

The problem is these files are more than 701MB and will not fit onto a single CD-R.

I've made vcds before and did not have a problem because the files were smaller.

I'm not sure what to do no. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. VCDs are burned in MODE2/XA so when you have a 700MB MPEG file and want to burn it as a VCD there will be ~105MB unused space on your 80min CD-R(W). This is not dependant on your bin image file size and if your standard VCD MPEG file is less than 80min, go on and burn it.
The bin file can be burned directly or you can extract your video file and import it in a new VCD project using your favorite authoring program.
BUT you can't burn/copy your extracted files and folders as DATA, this will not playable in standalone players.
Even if you have a bigger file, first extract the file and reencode it by using one of kwag's xVCD templates and you will fit more than two hours of the same quality on one cd.

  3. Thanks for the information. When you say extract it do you mean extract the VCD File from the bin then reencode it?

i'll look for the xVCD Templates your talking about. Maybe that will shed some light. Haven't done that but will give it a go.

    Thanks again.

  4. Yes, extract the dat file from the bin then convert to MPEG by VCDGear/VCDCutter/MyFlix, and reencode it by TMPGEnc and one of xVCD templates and import your final file in VCDImager/Easy/Nero(uncheck standard compliant CD).

  5. I may have a bad file. When converting to MPEG using VDCGear, after about 30% it gives and Invalid DAT Signature error.

  6. Okay,
if so split the file and join the parts after conversion.(VCDGear does not delete its file.)
Keep your incomplete converted file and cut your original file from the end point of the converted one by VCDCutter and finally join them by MPEGTools of TMPGEnc and multiplex your MPEG.
I think this should resolve your problem.

  7. If the file isn't too big try Nero's overburn feature.
I tried it on one of my VCD creations and it worked fine except Nero gave me a write error at 100% but it had no actual effect on the disc or movie.
