  1. I am trying to find a some software that will allow me to creat a VCD with DVD features. I want it to autorun, come up on the puter screen using the full screen, have menue buttons or options, and not require any DVD software to play it. It needs to be able to play on any CD unit in a computer. I have tried to creat something like this with Nero, but to no success. Any Ideas

  2. This is how you would do this. Create a file called autorun.inf. Edit the file in notepad, and make it look like this (without the "-------&quot:

    --------------------------------------------------

    [autorun]
    Open=mplayer2.exe -fullscreen mpegav\videofile.dat
    Icon=iconfile.ico, 0

    --------------------------------------------------

    this will open media player with the video, and make it fullscreen. But you said you wanted menus, so what you're gonna have to do is use a menu creating program such as PowerPoint to make a menu that will work on the computer. Make your powerpoint file a self-opening exe, and then, your autorun.inf file would look like this:

    --------------------------------------------------

    [autorun]
    Open=powerpointfile.exe
    Icon=iconfile.ico, 0

    --------------------------------------------------

    ok, now burn the cd as a videocd, you can still make a menu that will read on a dvd player, as this is all separate. put the files I stated above into the main directory of the cd, and it should work. Respond with any comments/complaints.

  3. I had thought about trying this, but again it requires a DVD player. This is for a client who want to be able to give a cd to anyone, and they can just put it in any PC CD-drive and it will run. I have tried SpruceUp, but it too requires a DVD player. I have seen similar ones done for small business card CD's.

    The business card cd's and mini cd's i've seen use a flash presentation.. These will open up and play automatically upon inserting to a cd-rom drive

  6. 1- You have to consider PC and Mac separatly
    2- Professional authoring with Director or non-pro with media-player and DivX 3.11 or more pro MS WMV (ASF files).
    3- Call apps from the autorun to check if codec is installed, if not start an install Wizard (with Director I don't know,sould be well documented with the software).

    Hope this helps (at least it show it can't be straight !

  7. Right now I am playing with DVDIt. It will give you the menue along with buttons to access different files. It installs WinDVD along with your files to allow playback. The only problem is that when WinDVD launches it gives you an ad to upgrade to the full version before launching your program. I am now trying to modify it so it will automaticly go into the program.
