here's the skinny
P2-300MHz cpu, w/ 384 MB ram.
ultrascsi hard drive....
flask vcd encoding: peaks at 3.2 fps
dvd2avi divx enc: peaks at 2.0 fps
why is it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow? you guys with fast computers talk about encoding in real time, if not 1.5x realtime or something. im looking at 40-60 hour conversions.... what gives?
any help is very much appreciated. i have been planning to upgrade my computer to either athlonxp1800 or p4-1.7ghz with 512mb 2700ddr. will i get your results? no vias for me by the way.
thanks people
