  1. Hi All, I hope you all can help me. When trying to do a video
capture I drop frames, so I want to upgrade some of my
hardware. I currently have an Athlon 1gig, Radeon VIVO 64DDR,
    256m memory, 100 Gig storage (1- 40, 2- 30 Gig drives), Abit
    KT7A MB, TDK/Plextor CDRW, and a toshiba DVD-rom.
What would be my best upgrade choice? an AMD XP 2000+?
    a new ASUS A7V333 MB w/raid & 256M and my current 1gig Athlon?
Or just get the digital video creator II or ADS instant DVD (or what
    ever it's called).

Please help me on this, and Thanks.

I would think that what you have already is more then enough to not drop frames. Exactly whay resolution. frame rate, and compression are you currently using?

  4. I tried all different settings and just finally gave up.
I'm going to put together a celeron 400 that I have
laying around in pices and move my E-mail to that
as well as Kazaa and get everything off this computer
    and try again.
I have an ata 66 digital research raid card and the 2 - 30
gig drives that I can try, but I'll have to use either WinME
    or Win2k for that.

  5. ata66 on a raid should be plenty. What format and size are you trying to capture?

  6. I've tried all the various sizes and formats. I figured if I could get good
results from one than I could convert it later. So Like I mentioned
earlier, I'll move e-mail and other stuff to another computer and then
tweak and peak and format and see if I can't get it to work. If not then
I'll start upgrading. The new pinnacle deluxe looks good right now.
