  1. I am fairly new to all of this. In the past few weeks I have backed up about ten movies and a couple seasons of shows. I am still learning about better quality and everything like that. I have searched these forums high and low and seen many good ideas. I wanted to ask everyone how they like to set tmpgenc for their movies. Preferably VCD not svcd, but feel free to speak up. Does anyone have certain tricks up their sleeves or find that certain filters or setting make a big difference in quality? or know of something that can really make the quality poor????

You'll get better quality with SVCD, I use between 1400-1700kbps and 2 pass VBR to get 1 hour of video onto 1 CD. If you want to use Mpeg1, there is a panasonic mpeg1 plugin available for adobe premiere.
