  1. Hi to Everyone
Wonder if anyone could help me please
I am new to Nero and I am having problems. When I burn avi movies in vcd format, they play ok for a while then the sound goes out of sync with the video.
I have a cyber drive cd burner and use Nero 5.5 burning software
What can I do to correct this problem
    any help would be great
    Thanks
    Maggi

Are you using Nero to convert the AVI's to mpg? Nero does not do a good job converting, in fact, it sucks. Suggest you download Tmpgenc & use it to convert your AVI file to mpg first, then burn it with Nero. read the Guides posted on this site, they give more detailed infos.

After converting your avi file to mpg, it is ready to be burned to a CDR. Remember in order to make a VCD, your file must be mpg-1. To make a SVCD, your file must be mpg-2.

You can use Nero or VCDEasy to burn, I find them to be the easiest.

When you converted your file to mpg with Tmpgenc, if you had used the VCD template that comes with the program, you should have a VCD compliant mpg file. If you didn't, Nero will probably tell you that your file is non-compliant, simply turned off the compliancy check, and continue to burn the VCD.

Suggest you read Sefy's guide for newbies, it is quite good & helpful.

  6. Oh Maggi,

Also try and keep your MPG files that you convert to VCD as close to the
VCD standard as possible.. This is important if :D :D you plan on sharing you homemade VCD with Family and friends..Some of your family members
may have DVD players that won't play Non-Compliant VCD....
