I am trying to figure this out...I dl'd the 3 disks for Centropy's SW EPII, extracted the mpg files using VCD GEAR and have 3 mpg files (4 but I deleted one - the intro). They play back in Power DVD XP no problem, files #2 and #3 play back OK in Windows Media Player but the first one does not as there is some sort of weird error. Not a big deal because WMP will mess up the resolution anyways - SVCD/PAL! So here is the real problem:

I also burned the 1st disk using the original BIN/CUE files to CDR - plays back on my work computer (cdrom+power dvd), my stand alone JVC S500D, but not either one of my 3 drives in my home computer with POWER DVD XP?? Lite-on CDRW, Iomega CDRW, and Pioneer DVD?

I don't get it...my only though is that the video cards are supporting different capabilities. Should my Windows XP box at home be able to play this SVCD OK - even if it is PAL? I get errors saying incorrect pointer and that the disk has been damaged as to prevent playback??? I bring it to work and it is perfectly OK??? WEIRD!!!! The work computer has a onboard vid card, whereas home I use a Geforce II MX440 that supports TV OUT (though I don't use it...). Is it possible that the TV out part is screwing it up??

    HELP HELP HELP?

I guess the real question is - why the hell can I not play this PAL encoded SVCD on my XP machine at home?

    ----A little shorter!
