  1. Ive been trying to convert my NTSC tapes to vcd with my PAL vhs,
and as usual with "ntsc playback" on pal or vice verse,
its a nonstandard format. (PAL60 and NTSC50 if I remember it right)

Anyhow, after alot of thinking I decided to give my theory a try,
    and it worked great!

    I already have 2 fast computers, 1.2ghz and 1.4ghz,
and I also happend to own an old wintv primo besides
the PVR. I also realized that the 1.2ghz had tv-out.
So I got myself some cords and started fiddeling around, and
    it accually worked.
    Here is the setup

    PAL VHS - > 1.2ghz tv-in -> DSCALER -> 1-2ghz tv-out -> 1.4ghz tv-in

Now I can capture nice quality SVCDs in realtime, and I dont have to
worry about the bitchy framedrops.. hehe

I was going to buy a ntsc video, or a video converter,
both adding up to atleast 200bucks,
with this method I spent an enourmus amount of 5 bucks,
    for a replacement cable I needed =)

Hehe, it took some time to make it work,
but its all worth it =)))

  3. Tried some more, converted one of thoose EVIL ntsc tapes
(with a live concert recorded from tv by a US friend if you wanna know)
to vcd, and playing it back on my dvdplayer I couldnt
find any degradement.. ofcourse the video wasnt that good quality,
    but still..

IŽll be trying the method with a dvd or high quality vhs
and record with high(svcd/mpeg2 at like 5mbit/s or more)
to see just how good this method works.

Its also nice to have the filters and different deinterlacing methods
    that Dscaler offers..
