  3. I use a quite simple method for ripping DVD Karaoke. It works for me.

    1) use SmartRipper to rip all the desired tracks

    2) use DVD2AVI (per Sefy method), make sure to select the audio track that contains only music

    3) use TMPGEnc to encode. However, I set the start/end for each song so the MPG file will contain just one song. This can be setup as a batch job.

The result is a set of MPG files, one per song. Burn all of them on a CD-R (I use Nero). I also set the pause between track to be 0 seconds.

The resulting VCD will contains as many tracks as the number of MPG files.

I can use the remote control numeric key (Pioneer DV-333 player) to select the desired song.

I still do not know how to create VCD with two audio tracks (one with music & vocal, one with music only)

Why do I do this? simply because Karaoke DVD contains more songs than I want (I have lots of them, typically I only like 2 or 3 songs per disc). By taking only the songs I want, I group them in a few VCDs (or SVCDs). This result in fewer disc swapping.
