Hi, I was looking for a PS or PS2 VCD player and I found some and for some of them it said, only plays VCD v. 1.0, 1.1, 2.0. What does this mean, is there really a difference? I usually use TMPGEnc to encode, what VCD version does it encode in? Thanx in advance.
Sorry if this isn't the apropriate section to post in, I was hesitating between this and the newbie and I figured that VCD versions don't really play an important role for beginners and perhaps even for more advanced users.

The vcd versions refer to how a CD is burned. As it may be obvious already, 1.0 is the oldest and 2.0 is the newest. 1.0 and 1.1 are basically the same I believe, they just provide basic playback and not much else. vcd 2.0 provides for pixel correction (not much), and it also supports playback control with chapters as well. TMPGenc doesn't encode to any one of these, it's all about how they're burned.
-hope this helped
