  1. I tried using virtualdub, as described. But it doesn't work. Only the 'time elapsed' box keeps ticking, with the other descriptions having no reactions at all; profected file size as unknown, video rendering rate as 0.0, total time estimated as N/A.

    Can someone enlighten me...

  2. Same problem here. And if i set the point in audio to direct stream copy, the file gets bigger than before.

Do you know any help yet?
    Thanks

  3. No, haven't found any help yet. But at least now I am glad to know that I am not the only person having this problem... So that means the problem is not due to my computer.

  4. you dont really describe your problem very well, but look to the left of this page and you will see a section labelled "HOW TO". It is very likeley your problems will be solved within one or more of these guides.

  5. Are you sure your MPG is MPEG1? Virtualdub doesn't do MPEG2.

Videostudio 6 or MediaStudio Pro or Premiere will handle the MPEG2 conversion. Trial versions of first 2 at www.ulead.com to test it out.

  6. I did read the 'how to convert.' I downloaded virtualdub already. I used the settings as suggested. But cannot go anywhere...The software just does not 'convert' anything. All it does is create a new file (with the file name as my avi file name), but the file size is 0KB.
