  1. Using VirtualDub to join two parts of a movie I got an error saying that they have different sampling rates (one is 14.985 fps, other is 29.970 fps). By changing the fps to match the other part it results in an out-of-sync movie.

What is the best way to fix this sync problem? Have tried changing the Source Displacement and changing the speed of the video in Video Frame Rate control, but I can't seem to get the frame rates to match and still have a movie that is in sync.

    Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

  2. Try changing the 14 fps to 29.97 before merge. I find extracting the audio (especially MP3) from a Divx in Virtualdub to WAV then converting the video then merging gives a clear movie. It avoids sync problems to have the audio separated from the video then remuxed.

  3. thnx, I'm trying that. Can I use VirtualDub to rejoin the audio & video? What program would you recommend?

  4. Changing the 29.97 fps to 14.985 fps results in video that looks like it's playing in slow motion, probably the reason for the out-of-sync problem (which persisted even after extracting audio to uncompressed .wav and mixing that with the video that I changed to 14.985 fps). HELP!?

I've tried converting to both parts of the movie to MPEG but they still weren't compatible, tried converting both to VCD but got an error with the first part. I don't know what to do to get these movie pieces to join and it's driving me crazy!

  5. Better to change the low fps video to higher.

You can burn both parts to one disc - there might be a small delay between the two as the player changes tracks - some burning software can narrow the gap.

If you convert both to MPEG do they play well separately?
