  1. My Dv video files are Cupter from my Mini-Dv Camcorder at 3500 Kbps (+/-).

When i convert it to DVD, Is it reely useful to convert it to higher Kbps ?
    ( Somsing like 4000 Kbps / 6000 Kbps Or 8000 Kbps. )

If I understand right, it's can't by better from the source video file.

    Thanks,

minidv is about 3500 kbyte/s while dvd is 4000-6000 kbit/s = 500-750 kbyte/s. So you will convert it to a lower bitrate but with another compression technic so you won't lose that much quality.

    1 bit is 8 byte.

Not the quality but the filesize.

    And DV correctly is 3.61 MB/s ~ 3.700 KB/s ~ 30.000 kb/s.

If you have a mpg-stream with 5.000 kb/s then you have 1/6 filesize but much more than 1/6 quality.

Actually, 8 bits is 1 byte (but we really knew what you meant!).

  7. TMPGEnc 6000kb CBR, Highest Quality (slowest). That is what I use and seems to be 1:1 as much as possible. If you want to cut down on file size there is a method you can do in CCE.

  8. And I would just suggest 6000 VBR, not CBR, with maximum bitrate being 8000 and minimum being 4000. The final file size may be lower than CBR (not all your frames may need allocation of such a high bitrate), but the quality will rule! Especially if you use 3-5 passes with CCE.

  9. That is just in TMPGEnc I was suggest and yes in CCE it would look much better.
