Hi all,
This might not be an isolated problem but I haven't found any post about it.
The deinterlaced video I've captured from the digital cable box (Composite out) using WinTV Go, VirtualDub always produce horizontal lines/noise particularly in frames with high motion content. These same lines can be seen when using WinTV2000 application to watch tv if and only if the deinterlacer (2 field) is turned on.
I've tried using IuVCR and DScarler and the video captured was noiseless, however from the lower quality I could tell they were both interlaced.
I've even tried swapping the tv capture card into different pci slots with no help.
Changing the screen color depth, resolution and refresh rate had no effect in getting rid of these lines, nor does changing compression format.
I've capture a still posted here
Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks !
Info: AMD 600, 256MB RAM, 20GB 7200rpm ATA100, Voodoo3 3000 AGP, WinTV latest WDM drivers

It's not an isolated problem. I have the exact same thing when capturing from my digital cable (s-video). It's really annoying. Any help would be appreciated.

on most deinterlacers there is an option that says "blend instead of interpolate" or sumthing to that nature. select that and resize and deinterlace and see what kinda results u get. hope that helps u.
