I have two versions of a movie, but neither of them is complete. One has 2 parts, but is missing the end of the movie. The other has 6 parts, but there is quite a bit of the movie missing between parts 1 & 2. I took a section of the first version of the movie and want to add it to the 2nd version to make a complete movie. My problem is that the section I want to add is not encoded the same as the other parts. I have tried re-encoding the parts so they will match, and it always results in an out-of-sync piece of the movie. Is there a "default" format to change to (VCD, MPEG, etc that will allow me to correctly encode all parts the same with no sync problems? I am currently trying to turn them all into VCDs, with hopes of encoding to MPEG4. Any suggestions? Am I on the right track? MPEG pieces still weren't compatible, I don't know what else to try. Checked every FAQ & Manual I can find on vcdhelp.com and divx.com.
