  1. Can you do SVCD/VCD playback directly from the CD-R? I've heard of SCSI1-something.VXD drivers which allow this, but the link to more information from VCD help is broken.

I'm searching all over google, and I would like to be able to playback stuff from my DVD or CD-RW player. They both support mode 2, and I can rip the MPEG track from the CD using ISOBUster. But that limits how I can watch movies.

Is there any way to play the VCD/SVCD directly from the CD using Power DVD or something? I can't copy the track using Windows copy commands, I have to extract using ISO buster. Haven't tried other tools like VCD gear, but from my understanding, they do the same thing, so same problem.

It's annoying to have a 10 minute pre-start sequence while I'm waiting for the first disc to copy, then a 10 minute wait for each disc after that.

Hoping someone can help me with this.

    Thanks,

  2. I play back vcd's from my cd drive all the time using windvd, you should also be able to play them using media player. If the disc does'nt auto play when you open the software select the dat file and play that. The dat files are in the mpegav folder on a vcd disc.
