I am trying to convert Divx files to xVCD format. The divx files are about 230MB and are about 43min long. When I try to convert using TMPGEnc. using the following settings I get a file that is over a Gigabyte in size! It gets to the end of the video and then shows the last frame for about an hour. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and it was working before.
    Stream-Type: MPEG1 Video
    352x240
    4:3 525 line
    29.97 fps
    Constant Bitrate(CBR)
    Bitrate 1024
    vbv buffer size 40KB

It doesn't matter if I use highest quality or lowest, they turn out the same. Any sugestions?

    My hardware:
    850 Duron
    Iwill KK266 mobo
    Radeon 7200

  2. That sounds a bit strange?
An average 750mb DivX converted to VCD using 2 cd's will come out between 1.2 to 1.5 gig (split over 2 cd's...600-750mb...depending on bitrate).
I would be suspicious about that last few seconds taking so long to encode.
Did you play the AVi in Media Player ok?......
Does that same last minute part of the movie play ok?..
If you suspect a problem try these tools..
DivFix or even better go here and download the special version of Virtualdub called Mp3 Freeze
    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html
(remember to scroll down the page till you find the right v-dub)
...then open movie > Check for freezes...and then check the Notepad log of all the bad frames .Then extract them and re-stream the movie in V-Dub.

Sorry I wasn't clear. It is not that the last frame takes a long time to encode, it's the last frame is over an hour long when playing back. And I just noticed there is no sound.
