  1. I know this is similar to other posts, sorry, but I failed to find a solution.

I was using the bitrate calculator that I downloaded off of this site. I used those numbers in the two-pass VBR on Tmpgenc. When the file finished though and I opened Nero the file was nowhere near small enough to fit onto an 80 minute CD?? This is an SVCD by the way....

I was trying to put only 58 minutes onto a CD, I didnt think that was too big. Should I just drop the bitrate even more or am I missing something?

Please Help, this is really getting frustrating!!

You can put about 40-45 min on 80min cd-r in SVCD format. If your doing XSVCD you will need to lower bit rate more to fit that amount of time on a cd-r.

XVCD and XSVCD are anything that is not to the stanadrs of each format.
May the force be with you.

if you used the bitrate calculator, the movie should fit on the disc. how big was the mpeg file? you can fit over 800MB on an 80 min. CD if it is (S)VCD. try using VCDeasy to make an image, and then either mount the image with daemontools and copy, or directly burn image. one of these methods should work.
