  1. If you've downloded a DivX file that is about 500-700Mb and
want to convert to VCD should you make a 1CD VCD or 2? And how do u determine that?
Do u ever convert DivX to SVCD?

  2. Convert to VCD format and then look to see how big the file is. Split across two if too big for one CD.

Can also do similar for SVCD, though you can compress more and get onto one CD if you don't mind losing the quality.

Try an few things and see what you like.

  3. What I mean is if you want to convert DivX to (S)VCD and keep all the quality from the DivX file how can u find what video and audio quality u should use for the (S)VCD?

  4. I think you'll find that it's quite difficult to keep the quality as DivX with creating a bigger file and going across two CDs.

As far as I know there's no rule of thumb on this so just start by using the standard settings in TMPGEenc and see what results you get.

There are bitrate calculator programs that will enable you to encode you mpeg files to a certain size (to fit cd's etc), but if you try and get a one CD DivX movie on a vcd then it wont look as good.

    Just try it and see
