  1. Can anyone help pleez. I'm using PowerDVD 2.55 on my laptop which has an AMD 333MHz processor, plenty of RAM and a LG DVD Rom drive. I'm having problems viewing a svcd, which tends to be jumpy and the sound is unsynchronised. I loaded Kristal Vision 3.11 CODEC, but this hasn't helped. Any suggestions! BTW: I don't have any problems playing standard DVD's.

  2. Try copying the avseq001.mpg file onto your hard drive and playing it from there. If that plays ok then the problem is your CD/DVD drive is not fast enough to play this SVCD.

Reason is DVD's and CD's are a different technology with DVD's having a much higher data density than CD's hence they do not need to spin as fast in order for the data to be read quickly. ( I think 1 speed DVD is about the same as 12 speed CD)

  3. Tried that a while back, and it does play slightly better, but it's still pretty crap. Thanks for the reply.
