I have asked this question before but i still have problems.
i have a wintv go card. when it displays us t.v. shows it stutters regulary. i have tried new drivers but it still keeps stuttering. it even happens when i am not capturing. does anyone know how i can fix this problem?it only happens with some vhs tapes and american shows. it's very strange.

  2. Some devices have problems with "dirty" signals - old tapes, stations not tuned well. These will make the capture chip loose sync or oterwise make it hate life.

For tapes - some people run their signal first through a hardware time base corrector. Not a great solution. Some capture devices are less touchy than others.

For TV - use the fine tune to ry to bring the station in better. You may not be able to cap marginal stations.

what's a hardware time base corrector?
Anyway i find i can capture without the stuttering if i enlarge the screen or increase the resolution but this means i cannot capture straight to vcd. anyone have any ideas?

  4. A hardware time base corrector takes the signal in, cleans up any jitter from being old or from a crummy source and spits out a clean signel to your capture card.

Look on web for ... Sumo ... Video Copymaster Model SED-CM
$50 bucks at Best Buys ... removes macrovision.

I bought it ... it is hooked up between my Proscan VCR and my ATI AIW 7500 composite video input ...

Also allow me to copy two videos tapes from VCR to VCR ... no macrovision screwups.

Never tried it between cable input and vcr/tv.

    Sincerely ... Mach10 ... aka Laceywest
