  1. Hi

I have failed to create a valid DVD and now run out of ideas

After a bit of playing around, i finally managed to create a MPG in TMPGenc that was in sync, (never remember MPG1 being this hard)

The problem being that when I turn that MPG file into a DVD, I am using Ulead Movie Factory, I have tried SpruceUp but it crashs in some new an interesting way every time I run it.

The MPG on the harddisk is in sync when I play it thought power dvd 4, i have tried playing all the way though and fastwarding to differnet bits, always in sync. Burn the DVD and into the standalone player, the sync drifts off as the film plays

    Any ideas?

    Cheers Paul

  2. In the same boat (I posted yesterday).

Using tmpgenc to create a DVD PAL image which appears to be ok when played back in a variety of software decoders. Used ULead DVD Workshop to burn to DVD-RW and this knocks audio and video out of sync. Pioneer 444 stand alone player only shows menu and will not play back video. Also used Spruce up trial to create VOBs but these didn't work when burnt to DVD with Nero (out of sync once more).

I think TMPGEnc only sets up valid DVD MPEG2 parameters (48KHz sound and video bit rate etc) but to transfer to VOB seems to create the sync problem no matter what is used. Do you see the Ulead package re-encoding the MPEG you've created before it burns to DVD? This is what I've found appears to happen on DVD Workshop.

Have you also tried to burn VOBs to hard disk rather than to DVD and playback using the Ulead software? I'd be interested in the results if you have (ie in sync).
