  1. Is there any point when TMPGEnc does it anyway, if you select a vcd template. Or does vdub do a better job.

    craigtucker,

    In short, YES!!

ie, if U R framingservia vdub --> tmpg, depending on your size in vdub,
some filters will produce difference results, when filters R 2 B used in
    tmpg also.
ie, the sharpening used in tmpg has a different affect on final encode
when frameserved w/ vdub or .avs, or any combo of all, etc.
ie, resolution in each entry point will affect any combo of filters used in
any and/or all combo of frameserving. You'll get different results - at
    least to a trained eye.
The above is just an example of your delima/question.

basically, filters will affect or releft other filters when combined. I sorry
if I can't get the words out right for ya.

So, which ROUTE to use in an encoding project? ? ?
That will all depend on your goal. You have to trial and error each clip
to see which one yields the best results. however, most people will prob.
agree that you can't tell the difference. I can, and ave done a few of
these test in my own variation of trial and error.
    * every source will yield something different. Not all sources are alike.
