  1. I need to know, how do I cut a SVCD into two pieces. I have a 1.1Gb big SVCD and need to split it into two 500.05mb files, how do I do this?
If you know a program, please write how I do it.

But why split a SuperVCD?, you can burn it as SuperVCD and then you burn as a SuperVCD in nero nero counts how many minutes the SuperVCD is, so...but maby you need to split ...but but...you can try to burn it as a SuperVCD

As to the letter above: Huh? What are you trying to say? The topic looks simple (I have the same problem): instead of ripping DVDs, I am capturing from VHS to SVCD format (480*480 Mpeg-2 CBR or VBR). The capture is longer than the length of time that will fit onto a CDR in SVCD format (about 45 minutes), so the captured SVCD file must be split somewhere. Unfortunately, most programs can split Mpeg-1 or AVI files but not Mpeg-2, which is supposed to be a "finished" format (ie. cap and edit in AVI, then render in Mpeg-2). I've tried Ulead Video Studio 5 (which came with my capture hardware) and Tmpgenc but both are inadequate as cutting tools. In my case, Tmpgenc did not do a good cut as it shaved a few Megs off my second piece and then remuxed both pieces out of sync. The original Mpeg-2 file is in sync.

So, how do you cut Mpeg-2's without losing sync? Anyone know?

    TIA

I cut mpeg2 with TMPGenc's mpeg tools. I never have problems with sync. However, for a long time i thought I had, because on my PC, unless I play the mpeg2 with PowerDVD, the audio/video seems totally out of sync. Not with PowerDVD, though, and the mpeg2 always produces in-sync SVCD.
