  1. Just wondering if people can give me ideas on what video editor to get. I would like one that works like Cool Edit on audio where I can open a file & cut, copy, paste or delete any parts of it then save again easily.

You don't say what type of file you want to cut. If you are cutting AVI files with a suitable codec, you are wlecome to try out my video cutting/joining program Clip! - go to http:\\www.billh.demon.co.uk and follow the links.
    It's free!

It only works with codecs that encode each frame indivually, i.e. each frame is a key frame. Codecs such as DivX will not work!

Of course I forgot to mention the best free video processing tool - Virtual Dub. Handles MPEG1 and AVI files...

And then of course there's TMPGEnc... for MPEG files

  7. Kacey - in the lower end look at Pinnacle Studio 7 and Ulead VideoStudio

In the upper end look for Adobe Premiere or Ulead MeadiaStudio Pro 6.5

And rather than getting it on Kazaa I suggest ebay if you don't want to pay full price. I got MediaStudio Pro 6.0 cheap & upgraded.

And as they said, augment your toolbox with Virtualdub (freeware) www.virtualdub.org. You'll also want the TMPGenc MPEG encoder (freeware) at www.tmpgenc.net

I use Video Vegas 3.0 or Ulead Media Studio Pro 6.5.
