    Ok, so i am fairly new to video editing. I want to capture pictures from the moive to make as my previews in the menu, but i can never copy it. It always makes paint transparent, it's very strange.
    So what do i need to do this?

    Download VirtualDub (If you don't already have it)
    load up your AVI or MPEG file and go to the frame you want
    click on the Video menu tab and choose either copy source or output frame to clipboard
    then open your preferred image editor and paste!!
