  1. I have the latest QT pro and I can not open 3 mov files I downloaded last night.

Usually if there is a problem QuickTime will connect and download the component needed - but thats not happening. I even run QuickTime update and it says everything I have is current.

The error message says "You may esperince problems plaing a track in "Test.mov" becaue the required compressor could not be found. Would you like to close the move or contine?"

Shouldn't the latest Quicktime have the latest updates? I'm at a loss with this one - any hints greatly apreciated!

  3. It opens in TMPGEnc, Bink and Smacker and Quicktime - but it only shows white for the video because the "correct" decompressor can't be found???

Maybe the files are just corrupt from internet downloading.

  7. I got it figured out - and it was something I was unfamilier with

I had to get a new codec for Quicktime called 3vix

    http://www.3ivx.com/download.html

I've never had to add a codec to Quicktime - you just download it and put the .qtx file in %WinDir%\system32\QuickTime
