    I have been happily using Sefy's guide to ripping DVDs with Smart Ripper, DVD2AVI then TMPGEnc.

    Until recently DVD2AVI has always produce a WAV file which works with TMPGenc. Suddenly it only produces an AC3 which TMPGenc will not use.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Are you sure that in menu 'Audio' -> 'Dolby Digital' the 'Decode' option is checked instead of 'Demux' or 'Demux all' ?

    Kitaro, your suggestion worked. VMT. I don't remember changing that setting but putting it back has solved my problem. Thanks again.
