I want to download video from my firewire DV camera, edit it with VideoWave 4, then burn it onto DVD-r/-rw discs.
Can anyone suggest the best system for creating DVD's?
I guess WinXP is the OS of choice for large video files, but what about the rest of the hardware?
Should I get a P4 or AMD CPU and motherboard?
Which speed cpu?
Would a Raid-0 be good or cause more problems?
Which brand DVD-r/-rw burners
What about speeding up the encoding process? Currently it takes me at least five hours to encode an authorable 30 minute video format to VCD.
What speed can I expect if I upgrade to the suggested system?
I currently have 550mhz P3 with 384MB with Win98se. Capture is from DV camera via firewire. Editing software is Videowave-4. I want to end up with a DVD.
Thanks!
Al
Should I buy a stand alone DVD recorder or an internal one?

i believe that p4 is best 4 encoding. faster is better but they all have same encoding abilities.
standalone is easier with less options, but u can do much more and get the result u want with an internal drive IF u know how to do it. if u wanna capture tv progs get standalone unless u have a capture card.
DVD+R(W) seems to be the best now that +R discs are here.
