help with dvd ripping

i tryed dubdvd so i could convert straight from dvd to svcd like it said it could do but every time i press copy it says their is no blank disk in my cd writter when i know their is is their any other software which will do the same ? coz i can not rip to my hard drive as its only a 6 gig

well you can try DVDx it werks exactly like Dub-DVD but better but the mpeg file wil be saved on your hard drive but it wouldnt take up much space as an averge 2 hours movie willl be less then 950 megs if encoded with the standard settings but i must advise DVDx isnt the ideal quality encoder but its perfectly great but if you want a better Quality you might want to frameserve to TMPGEnc...this is possible with a few more tools
