  1. are there anyway to make my modem work faster? and what does the error bad avi mean and how do i fix it? thanks

  2. As for the modem, what type we talking here, 56K, DSL, cable,isdn. If its broadband there is probably nothing because we all have caps that we are locked by. Now if its a phone(56K) modem then sometimes you can download programs that will tweak the modem settings to make it go a little faster, but still not 56K full speed.


    Your avi problem could becaused when downloading, I downloaded alot of movies and sometimes get files that say that they are bad or missing indexes, open then in VirtualDub and do a DIRECT STREAM COPY to a new file. That usually fixes all index problems. Now to fix a corrupt divx file, there is a tool I think called Divxfix or something like that, look in the tools section of this website, they may have a link to it, or something like it.
