I am having problems encoding DivX avi files to MPEG format. This is not the 'purple haze' problem that comes and goes every few frames - I sorted that by installing the SMR codec that was required for SMR movies.
When I play the files using Windows media player, they play fine, but when I try to convert using TMPGEnc blocks appear. It seems to mainly be around light objects on a dark background. It looks bad!
I've tried everything, adjusting the filters to get rid of noise, enabling the soften block noise option, adjusting the bitrate to see if that does anything. Nothing works! Please help. Thanks, Andy.![]()
