If so is it worth buying and I understand it only works on Windows 2000 so I would have to switch but Ive heard it can help you with alot of stuff. So what are your thoughts on this ?

If your going to buy it, I'd test drive it first. There are alot of other great 3d rendering apps out there. Light Wave seems to be real popular, and they offer a student discount.
3d Max and Bryce have strong followings too.
I think Maya may be offering some promotion due to the Final Fantasy exposure.
There are news groups for these apps where people share tips and show off their work. Just don't ask for warez 'cuz they'll turn you in. They're in the alt.binaries heirachy. Bryce's is alt.binaries.3d.bryce.
