can i extract subtitles from a dvd and get them onto my ripped video file?

Look at the DVD ripping guides in the How-To section ...
You can rip the subtitles separately from the video file (use SubRip for instance) or rip them onto the video files directly (you can use FlaskMpeg for that).

This person needs a Mac solution, not a PC one.
DVDExtractor for OS 9 will rip out subtitle streams to a file with an .spc extension. I don't know what software can be used to edit these subtitle streams to a format understandable by, for example, Apple DVD Studio Pro. -
thanks. i ripped the spc file. now i hav eno idea what to do with it.
anybody have any clues?
