  1. using nero, i have made perfect VCD's in the past. but now for some reason, when i create VCD they all have extreme blockiness - jitters, rendering them 100% unwatchable. i've tried slowing down burn speed, but no luck. this happens with all file extensions - DIVX, MPEG, WMV. any ideas?

If they have worked in the past then what are you doing differently now?

Different MPEG encoder? Different disc media? What?

  3. i've looked into this problem a little further, and i think the blockiness/jitters come from a general problem with my CD RW drive. the drive plays ALL audio discs with skips and pops. when i rip from this drive the MP3's end up with the same skips and pops even though the source material is pristine. so i think the blocky/jitters in my VCD's come from those pops and skips being reproduced in the VCD creation process. anyone have any ideas what is causing this propblem?

Sounds like your hardware or firmware for same. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer.
