convert AVI with TEMPGEnc

hy, i hope you can understand my english
i hav a problem to convert a AVI file with TMPGEnc. i have install DIVx5.

1.) if i convert a avi-file, i have audio, but not video.

2.) with the second avi-file i have a message (tmpgenc) like : "can not open or unsupported".

now i have installed DIVx4
then i convert the first avi-file; now i have video, but not audio. (

what can i do ???? i don't now the codec from the avi-files.

2) try to uninstall Divx5, and then reinstall Divx 3.11, and see if that works. if you need Divx5 again, reinstall it, but tell it not to handle Divx3.11 files
