  1. Hi everybody. Please give any advice.

Whule exporting my video (timeline) in Premiere 6 back to the mini DV tape ( Camcorder is JVC GR DVL 300)every 2 minute or so the frame freezes ( I think its droped frame) for a second. Settings seem correct to me which are as followes

    Video

    mode Microsoft DV AVI
    Compressor Microsoft DV (NTSC)
    Frame size 720 X 480
    Frame Rate 29.97 FPS
    Dept Millions
    Quality 100 %
    Aspect Ratio D1/DV NTSC (0.9)

    AUDIO
    Sample rate 48000 Hz
    Format 16 bit Stereo
    Compressor uncompressed

    Rendering is Lower Fields first

    Ant suggestions !!!!!!

hey i got a similar problem when trying to exoprt to my cannon zr mc 45. i tried using the export to tape and also by just playing it on the timeline. i also tried exoprting the video as one solid video instead of project file with cut up videos. everytime i still had freezy video about every 1:30 secs. i dont think it is anything related to my video camera. i also tried using different minidv tapes. i think it may have something to do with my ieee 1394 cable. any ideas whats going on?

I've not experienced this as I have never output to tape but I was wondering if you rendered the transitions & effects, etc. before outputting. I'm assuming the tape must run at a certain speed and if Premiere is rendering during output it might not be able to keep up with the speed of the tape ??

If you have pre-rendered then please ignore me

Premiere 6 had a lot of bugs when it came to DV .. upgrading to 6.5 seems to solve most of the problems (but you have to uninstall 6 completly first) ..

more info found on the adobe premiere forum
